THE
HUMAN LIBRARY

Founded by Ronni Abergal in Copenhagen in 2000, the Human Library is an international organisation and movement that aims to address people’s prejudices, by helping them to talk to those they would not normally meet.

The organisation uses a library analogy of lending people for a short period of time to tell their story, rather than books. Readers choose the books they are interested in. Librarians curate and manage the event. There is no charge for this event.

Reach4ward delivered its first Human Library at our Great Get Together in 2019, which was very successful, with 12 people authoring their work and a number of others listening and invited to ask questions.

We aim to deliver three Human Library events a year.

The date for the next Human Library which will take place in Hope Baptist Church in Hebden Bridge is 29 February 2020. 1-5 pm.

For more information about this event, or if you would like to be a book at the Human Library, contact Roger King on 07776 426168
